Úloha rodiny a nejbližšího sociálního prostředí v ošetřovatelské péči

S rozvojem ošetřovatelství se postupně mění i role zdravotní sestry. Tuto změnu si vynucuje nejen rozvoj medicíny a vlastního ošetřovatelství, ale i do oboru pronikající nové poznatky společenských věd, zejména psychologie, pedagogiky, sociologie a etiky. Dnešní medicína poněkud posouvá tradiční roli nemocného a jeho rodiny. Člověk se zpravidla potřebuje stát aktivním účastníkem týmového úsilí zdravotníků o udržení či návrat vlastního zdraví a soběstačnosti v základních každodenních činnostech. K tomu je naprosto nezbytné získat ke spolupráci rodinu a nebližší sociální okolí.
