Prostate cancer is the most common neoplasm in male population. Despite radical therapy in signifiant number of patients recurrence occures. The recurrence is indicated by PSA level elevation. However for adequate treatment setup localisation of site of reccurece is essential. Fluciclovine is radiotracer used for PET imaging. It is well accumulated in prostate cancer cells. Therefore fluciclovine PET/CT stands for sensititive reccurence localisation method in patients suffering from prostate cancer. In this paper we summarize the use of fluciclovine PET/CT in recurrent prostate cancer patients.

Fluorescence is a method of intraoperative imaging that helps to achieve better postoperative functional outcomes in different surgical disciplines. The most important and well-studied fluorescent dye used in urology is indocyanine green. This dye can be used during a wide range of urological procedures for angiography and lymphography and for visualization of anatomical features of tissues. Nowadays, the focus of research worldwide and also in the Czech Republic is the intravenous application of indocyanine green during partial nephrectomy. The pharmacological properties, indications and contributions of indocyanine green during partial nephrectomy...

Urinary tract infection (UTI) is an inflammatory response of the urothelium to bacterial invasion that is usually associated with bacteriuria and pyuria. Infection of the urinary tract occurs when bacterial virulence increases and/or host defense mechanisms decrease. Antimicrobial prophylaxis is the prevention of reinfections of the urinary tract by the administration of antimicrobial drugs. If the term is used correctly in reference to the urinary tract, it can be assumed that bacteria have been eliminated before prophylaxis is begun. Perioperative antimicrobial prophylaxis entails administration of an antibiotic agent before and for a limited time...

Urine cytology is nothing new in the urological practice and it still remains to be a fundamental and widely used method for detection of urothelial carcinoma. The Paris classification system has changed the way of looking at the evaluation of urine cytology specimens. Its forthcoming revised version aims at following this trend.

Medicinal as well as table mineral waters have an irreplaceable role in the prevention and treatment of urinary tract disease. Drinking medicinal mineral waters results in increased diuresis, which leads to increased elimination of the total amount of substances excreted, including urine crystals, small calculi, bacteria, epithelia, mucus, etc. Given their composition, a number of these waters affect urine pH, particularly toward the alkaline side, have a lithoprotective effect due to the content of some elements, and many exert anti-inflammatory activity (due to a diuretic effect and the presence of some elements and bicarbonate). It is advisable...

Psychogenic erectile dysfunction occurs in 20 % of all cases of erectile dysfunction. It should be highligted that organic erectile dysfunction is very often complicated by psychological factors that lead to the fixation of the disorder. These include fear, depression, anticipatory tension (anxiety about expecting an erectile failure), personality characteristics and conflicts in a relationship - a partner's sexual incompatibility. The primary psychogenic erectile dysfunction is the inability to achieve and maintain the erection of sufficient rigidity for the implementation of satisfactory sexual intercourse, if we have ruled out an organic cause by...

Urologic pacients required multifactorial pharmacological treatment. In perioperative periode increasing number of concomitantly taken medications elevate the risk of drug interactions. Drug interaction is changing of the effekt of a one drug by another drug or substance. According to the causing mechanism, drug interactions are divided into farmaceutical, farmakokinetic a farmakodynamic. Drug interactions can result in serios reduction of therapeutical effekt or increasing of drugs concentracion with its toxic effekt. Urolog should be informed about potential dangerous drugs combination and try to predict them.

Spontaneous regression of a primary testicular germ-cell tumour (GCT) is a rare phenomenon which may be presented by metastases, elevated tumour markers and a suspicious testicular ultrasound image. The histological study of the testicle demonstrates morphological changes of complete or partial tumour regression and finds fibrous scarring and other characteristic changes of complete or partial tumour regression, most commonly seminoma. On this case report we present our clinical, imaging, laboratory, cytohistological and therapeutic experience of this topic.

The goal of my work is to present a case report of the pacient firstly diagnosed with angiomyolipoma of the left kidney in past, who is now arriving to urological emergency due to acute made-pain in the left kidney, while was working with a telescopic saw. We found the ruptura of tumour with retroperitoneal bleeding has been already solved by operated revision and nephrectomy.
