Prostate cancer (PC) is one of the most common malignant tumours in men. Screening for prostate cancer, including its recurrence or metastases, using conventional imaging techniques is usually relatively poorly sensitive. Fluorodeoxyglucose, the most widely used radiopharmaceutical for positron emission tomography (PET), also exhibits low sensitivity for detecting prostate cancer. Fluorine- labelled choline (FCH) that is especially sensitive in detecting bone and soft-tissue metastases of prostate cancer is currently available in the Czech Republic and is thus becoming a major diagnostic tool, particularly in evaluating the relapse of prostate cancer.

Peripheral neuropathies are a heterogeneous group of peripheral nerve diseases. The most common cause is diabetes mellitus that presents with frequent micturition, urgency, and/or urge incontinence in the initial phases. If untreated, lower urinary tract disease can be manifested by progressive loss of sensitivity, increasing residuum, and even urinary retention. Rarer causes of peripheral neuropathy and lower urinary tract dysfunction include, for instance, Guillain-Barré syndrome, hyperthyroidism, HIV, herpes simplex virus, or alcohol abuse. Initial diagnosis is generally non-invasive. Invasive examination methods are used when primary...

Retroperitoneal fibrosis is a rare chronic inflammatory disease. Urologist have major role in it's diagnosis and treatment because of typical symptoms of obstruction of ureters. Around 1/3 of cases follows various diseases. The rest of cases has idiopathic ethiology and is called Ormond's disease. The biggest contribution to diagnosis has CT scan and histological examination of bioptic material. Because of rarity of disease there are not enough data on effects or assessment of therapy. There is constant search of new drugs and their combination. New invasive procedures like robotic-assisted surgery and autotransplantation of kidney also appear....

Non–muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) represents a group of diseases characterized by papillary tumours confined to the mucosa (in the case of Ta tumours), invading the lamina muscularis propria (in the case of T1 tumours), and flat (mostly highgrade) tumorous lesions of the mucosa (in the case of Tis tumours and/or CIS). Molecular biology techniques along with clinical experience have shown a high malignant potential in T1 and CIS, requiring aggressive treatment that is currently represented by the combination of transurethral endoresection (TURBT) and intravesical instillation chemotherapy or immunotherapy. In accordance with...

Anaphylaxis is a severe, life-threatening systemic reaction that is almost always unanticipated and may lead to death by airway obstruction or vascular collapse. The most fleguent cause of anaphylaxis are food, drugs and insect. Administration of intramuscular epinephrine at the onset of anaphylaxis, before respiratory failure or cardiovascular compromise, is essential. Histamine H1 receptor antagonists and corticosteroids may be useful adjuncts. All pacients at risk of recurent anaphylaxis should be educated about use of epinefrine autoinjektor and drugs for first aid.

Penile squamous cell carcinoma is a rare cancer and almost exclusively a lesion of uncircumcised older men. Verrucous carcinoma is an uncommon variant that accounts for only 5 % to 16 % of all penile squamous cell carcinomas. The following case report describes penile verrucous carcinoma in a 60 – year old white man as an incidental finding during circumcision. The patient subsequently underwent glansectomy.

A case report of a patient with an asymptomatic formation in retroperitoneum. A series of tests was performed – computed tomography (CT), endocrinological and gastroscopic examination. The patient has undergone surgery with a histological finding of an adrenocortical carcinoma pT2 N0 M0. The patient is followed up on urology and oncology ambulance without adjuvant therapy.

catheter through the decision-making process Decision-making processes in health care are an integral part of strategic management. If the problem has to be solved effectively, the solution should be clearly based on the philosophy of decision-making processes. One of the serious problems of modern medicine are healthcare-associated infections. The article is focused to decision-making process leading to the minimization of urogenital infections caused in causal connection with health care.
