We report a case of an uncommon malignancy of the urinary bladder in a 42-year-old male, removed via transurethral resection.
Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor, a neoplasm of uncertain malignant potential, is characterised by spindle myoepithelial cell
proliferation and rich lymphocytic infiltrate. Disease occurs in internal organs and soft tissues of any body location. Diagnostics
is based on histologic examination, immunostaing and genetic mapping, which can help to identify typical genetic aberrations.
The treatment of choice is complete surgical resection. The overall prognosis is good.

Keywords: inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor, rare type of bladder cancer, ALK gene
