The aetiology of urinary incontinence and lower urinary tract infection is multifactorial; the two conditions often present concurrently with similar manifestations. These include pollakiuria, nocturia, dysuria, and suprapubic pain with urgency and urgent incontinence. According to literary data, urinary incontinence occurs in 20–30 % of women and various forms of urinary infections are represented similarly. Of major significance is appropriate diagnosing and relevant causal treatment. In the case of urinary incontinence, a complex approach and an individual treatment plan according to incontinence type are preferred, in urinary infections, targeted antimicrobial treatment is preferred.
