ové doporučené postupy pro resuscitaci dospělých i dětí, které vypracovala Evropská rada pro resuscitaci (European Resuscitation Council; ERC) jsou určeny všem zdravotnickým pracovníkům, nejen tedy lékařům, ale i zdravotním sestrám, záchranářům či farmaceutům. Kapitola „Základní podpora života“ (Basic Life Support) přináší užitečné informace rovněž veřejnosti, která je ochotna pomoci ostatním ve zdravotní tísni či při ohrožení života. Nová doporučení ERC jsou založena na systematickém zhodnocení dosavadních vědeckých a praktických znalostí v oblasti resuscitační medicíny a neodkladné péče, které probíhalo v posledních dvou letech mezi odborníky z celého světa. Ti diskutovali své výsledky na konsenzuálním setkání, které se uskutečnilo v lednu 2005 v Dallasu (USA) a jejich závěry byly publikovány v listopadu 2005 společně s těmito doporučenými postupy. Cílem bylo shrnout podstatné znalosti pro zavedení co nejlepší klinické praxe v resuscitaci na celém světě...
