The main aim of the treatment of metastatic prostate cancer (mPC) is to lower the value of testosterone to the castration level. Androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) leads initially to a reduction of the level of prostate–specific antigen and/or to radiographic and clinical response. The combination of docetaxel chemotherapy or new hormone agents (abiraterone acetate, enzalutamide, apalutamide, darolutamide) in the first line treatment of mPC may lead to an increase in overall survival or time to radiographic progression. This year, it has been ten years since the method of permanent brachytherapy was introduced in the Czech Republic as one ofthe treatment options for localized prostate cancer. In patients with a low risk of recurrence, the method has excellent resultsand low toxicity. Its further advantages include the speed of execution and rapid return to normal life; therefore, it is increasinglysought by both referring physicians and patients. The review article deals with the method’s advantages, its current indicationsand benefits, as well as with how the treatment has changed over the course of ten years.

Testosterone is well known as an important male sex hormone. It has important functions in the body. During ageing drops testosterone approximately 1.2 % yearly, sometimes it drops significantly and becomes testosterone deficiency. Obesity acts against testosterone and more men with abdominal obesity has insufficient level of testosterone. Many doctors have problems with testosterone supplementation because they afraid of the potential risks of prostate cancer. Opinions on his actions in the male body in last 40 years were changed. In the article are current opinions on the influence of testosterone on male health and results of supplementation.

In our case report we describe a 65 years old women with accidental finding of left hydronephrosis. A tumorous mass in the distalpart of the ureter was described according to computed tomography and a double J stent was inserted. The patient was examinedby a gynaecologist and a surgeon and a colonoscopy was performed, all with negative findings. The patient was reffered toundergo a resection of the left ureter wih exstirpation of the tumourous mass. Surprisingly, extragenital intrinsic endometriosiswas described in final histology.

Bacillus Calmette – Guerine intravesical therapy has become a standard treatment of high grade non-muscle invasive bladercancer (Ta, T1) and cancer in situ (CIS) in clinical practice. Good clinical outcomes are associated with possible side effects. Seriousside effects are relatively rare. BCG vaccine is a safety method, when correct application and contraindication are observed. Thearticle presents case report of 73 years old man with complicated intravesical BCG vaccine therapy – BCGitis. Goal of the article isto summarise posibble BGG complications and their management, incluiding the most serious cases.

Acute idopathic scrotal edema is a rare benign cause of scrotal edema and erythema with typical sonographic findings. It is morecommon in the pediatric population than in adults. And it doesn’t require surgical exploration. Authors present a case report ofsix-year-old boy with a recurrence of this disease. The study focuses on a brief overview of the issues, clinical manifestations andhow to diagnose the acute idiopathic scrotal edema.

Bladder catheterization is an invasive aseptic procedure that carries both infectious and non-infectious risks. The article dealswith the problems of urinary tract infections associated with catheteriziation. The article presents the possibilities of preventionof these infections, witch follow from the HICPAC/CDC recommendations and are then summarized in the conclusion as recommendationsfor practice.
