The article deals with the current trends in the metaphylaxis of urolithiasis and laboratory blood and urine tests intended to prevent the recurrence of urinary stones. Dietary and medical measures (general and specific) as well as the most common metabolic disorders associated with the formation of particular types of concrements are discussed in more detail.

Lymphogranuloma venereum belongs to the sexually transmitted diseases. The disease is caused by Chlamydia trachomatis serotypes L1, L2 and L3. In the last years of the 21st century there has been observed a large increase in the incidence of this disease in the world. There is a frequent co-occurrence with other sexually transmitted diseases (HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea, hepatitis C). Predominantly this disease affects homosexuals, in which case the first manifestation of the disease may be proctitis or proctocolitis.

Treatment of colorectal cancer is associated with a number of not only urological complications. The most serious complications are those directly related to radical treatment and complications caused by local growth of a tumor mass. Specific are functional complications after radical surgery or radiotherapy. This review article discusses various types of complications, their diagnosis, possibilities of their immediate management and long-term treatment and monitoring. The main stress is put on interdisciplinary cooperation with participation of surgeons, urologists, oncologists and other specialities.

Bone disease represents a serious medical problem in most patiens with advanced prostate cancer. There exists not only systemic therapy targeting the tumour but also therapy aiming mainly the bone affected by prostate cancer cells. The article summarizes briefly treatment modalities affecting the bone disease in prostate cancer patiens and its current role in prostate cancer therapy.

Prostate cancer is one of most serious urologic malignancies with increasing incidency in Czech Republic. Overall incidency according to National Oncologic Registry (NOR) in the year 2000 was 60/100000 and 111/100000 in the year 2011. Prostate Cancer presents the second most common cause of the death between the malignant disorders of the men. Initial stage of this malignancy is treatable and curable. So early diagnose is urgent. This article gives the informations about the diagnostic methods of the prostate cancer.

Aim: The evaluation of efficacy and safety of tissue glues in laparoscopic partial nephrectomy. Methods: There were evaluated cohort of 39 patients who underwent laparoscopic resection of kidney with the use of the tissue glue to resected area. In 23 patients there were used cyanoacrylate glue Glubran II and in 13 fibrin sealant Tisseel. The surgical results, complications and oncologic outcomes were assessed. Results: Median follow-up was 22 months. The patients with glue Glubran II was length of surgery 157 (64–284) minutes and blood loss 184 (10–700) ml. The case report presents a 78-year-old female patient with bilateral kidney tumours. On the left, nephrectomy was performed due to vital indication for spontaneous tumour rupture with significant bleeding into the retroperitoneum. Histologically, angiomyolipoma was subsequently identified. On the right, the patient was indicated for biopsy and radiofrequency ablation of the tumour. Here, a well-differentiated, clear-cell conventional renal adenocarcinoma was confirmed histologically. renal cell cancer, radiofrequency ablation.

The article presents a case of 58 years old female with symptomatic leiomyosarcoma of the left renal vein. Tumor resection with partial excision of the vascular wall was indicated. The surgery was uncomplicated and followed by rapid relief of symptoms. Local recurrence of the tumor resulted in low back pain and was confirmed by CT as 17mm enhancing lesion eight months after the primary surgery. Diagnosed recurrence was solved by the en bloc resection with left-radical nephrectomy followed by the adjuvant retroperitoneal radiotherapy.

Vascular complications stand for a rare but serious complication of urological diseases. The diagnosis and treatment are difficult and require a multidisciplinary approach. Effective solution goes hand in hand with early endovascular treatments. We present the 78-yearold man with primarily advanced colorectal cancer and acute massive hemorrhage from the arterio-ureteral fistula.

Voiding dysfunction and sexual dysfunction are quite frequent complications of treatment of colorectal cancer. Therefore it is very important to think about these complications, diagnose them and treat them early after development. We would like to present a case of a patient after surgery for colorectal cancer with adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
