Obesity represents one of today´s most serious health problems. It causes or it participates with other factors to the higher occurence of urolithiasis. The determining metabolical factor leading to the higher prevalence of urolithiasis is low urine pH, which causes lower solubility of uric acid. Its crystals function as promoters of oxalate lithiasis creation or directly to the creation of urate lithiasis. The therapy of urolithiasis in obese patients is by introduction of modern endoscopic methods very safe and effective in spite of certain specifics in obese patients.

Review of the urinary tract infection in children which focuses on the guidelines for urologists, pediatricians and general pediatricians. This article deals with clinical manifestations of the urinary tract infection, which are in different age categories significantly different. The necessary examinations for a correct diagnose are given. Initial antibiotic therapy is recommended and the need for hospitalization is discussed. Finally, appropriate imaging examinations are listed during and after the urinary tract infection and possibilities of prevention.

The benefits of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and its isoforms for the early diagnosis of prostate cancer (CaP) are considered with respect to overdiagnosis and overtreatment. From the available literature it is evident that isoform (-2)proPSA and calculated prostate health index (PHI) have greater sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis of CaP with PSA levels of 2.0 – 10,0 ng/ml, than the determination of total PSA (tPSA) free (fPSA), and their ratio. Infertility is a problem that affects large number of pairs. Treatment of male factor is arduous, especially in the case of idiopathic causes of infertility. Inositol is a promising agent improving quality of sperm, which effectiveness demonstrates recent studies. Oxidative stress reduction remains one of the pillars in treatment of idiopathic male infertility.

Vasectomy is a highly effective method of contraception. With the development of no-scalpel technique, significant percentage of couples worldwide rely on it. In 2012 the Czech Republic has changed its legal legislation restricting the use of vasectomy, which is easily accessible now. We report a rare occurrence of primary osteosarcoma of the urinary bladder in a patient originally under surveillance for superficial urothelial bladder carcinoma, pT1NoMo G II. This multimorbid 74-year-old patient had been treated for intermittent recurrence of urothelial carcinoma for 13 years and had been unsuitable for radical cystectomy.
