Varicocele treatment strategy is frequently discussed topic. Specifications for surgical treatment are more tighter now. Treatment alternatives

vary both in a surgeon and patient point of view. The recent trends in varicocele surgical treatment are discussed in this paper.

Both lymphatic pathways sparing methods (a retroperitoneal laparoscopic ligation or an inquinal/subinquinal microsurgical ligation)

and subinquinal prograde sclerotherapy are the current optimal surgical techniques. Minimum of serious complications (e. g. persistence

or recurrence of varicocele, testicular atrophy, postoperative hydrocele) are major benefits of these methods.

Keywords: varicocele, varicocelectomy, laparoscopic, microsurgical, sclerotisatio, hydrocele.
