Florencie je jedno z nejvýznamnějších evropských měst. Nachází se v překrásné malebné krajině Toskánska, která inspirovala renesační literáty Boccaccia, Petrarchu, Danteho, sochaře Donattelliho, Michelangela a další. Galerie Uffizi v sobě skrývá ohromné poklady v obrazových sbírkách Rembrandta, Botticelliho, Tintorettiho, Raffaella a celé řady dalších významných evropských umělců. Stavby Brunelleschiho jsou opravdovými klenoty toskánské architektury. Machiavelliho úvahy a politika rodu Medicejů, to vše jsou historické momenty a kolorit Florencie - perly evropské historie. V této atmosféře se konal 33. kongres International Continent Society.
