The review article deals with the aetiology, diagnosis, and treatment of vulvovaginal discomfort (vulvovaginitides) and its urologicalsequelae which, however, are minimal. Described in more detail are vulvovaginitides of viral origin (molluscum contagiosum,genital herpes, condylomata acuminata) and vulvovaginitides “in the traditional sense of the word” (trichomoniasis, lactobacillosis,anaerobic vaginosis, aerobic vaginitis, atrophic vaginitis).

Radical cystectomy with pelvic lymphadenectomy is the basic curative treatment for patients with advanced urothelial urinarybladder carcinoma. However, surgical treatment is quite often unfeasible from technical or other reasons or there is a patientwish to maintain his quality of life by urinary bladder sparing. Oncological treatment in the form of platinum-based neoadjuvantchemotherapy is associated with a high number of treatment responses, complete remision incl. and with an overall survivalimprovement, moreover, there is higher probability of bladder sparing surgery.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a very frequent disease. The past decades have witnessed a dramatic development in its treatment,associated with an increased interest in this issue by both doctors and patients. The advent of PDE5 inhibitors in the late 1990swas a revolution in treatment. Since then no such fundamental progress has been made; however, evolution in treatment hascontinued up to the present day. This article summarizes the current treatment options for ED and trends in the development ofnew therapies.

The indications for penile prosthesis placement are a motivated patient with erectile dysfunction, who desires reconstitution ofpenile function adequate for intercourse and who has failed at least 1 (and usually several) more conservative treatment. Tumors of the urethra are rare in urology and the mucinous adenocarcinoma of the urethra is very unique. The case report describesa patient with this rare tumor, its symptom, diagnosis and surgical treatment. It points out the need to think about the possibilityof tumor occurrence even in less common localizations and that relatively uncommon diagnosis should be taken into account fordifferential diagnosis. Even in a locally advanced urethra tumor, some surgical solutions are possible and patients can benefit from it.

Renal cell carcinoma is the most common primary kidney tumor. Czech Republic has the highest incidence of this type of tumorin the world. The occurrence of a tumor thrombus in the inferior vena cava is recorded in 4 % up to 10 % of patients at the timeof diagnosis. Renal cell carcinoma is in the most cases clinically mute or it may appear by atypical symptoms.
