The incidence of sexually transmitted diseases is on the rise every year and is related to risky sexual behavior and low socioeconomic status. Like in other medical fields, the increase in antimicrobial resistance is a big concern for the future. That is why we need to take a stance on the therapy responsibly according to expert recommendation. A significant feature of STDs is that they are transmitted jointly and each of them facilitates breakthrough of another infection. The riskiness of the disease is also higher by it's asymptomatic course with all the consequences of chronic inflammation. When diagnosing we need to keep in mind that STDs are transmitted just by direct contact not paticularly by sexual intercourse.

Keywords: sexually transmitted diseases, antimikrobial resistence, chronic inflamation.
