Erectile dysfunction is a relatively common health issue, with more than half of men aged 35–65 years in the Czech Republic

having a certain degree of the disease. The causes of erectile dysfunction can be psychogenic and organic, with the organic ones

including anatomical, neurogenic, hormonal, and vascular causes. Erectile dysfunction can be the first warning sign of serious

disease; therefore, one should not be content with symptomatic treatment only, but a patient with erectile dysfunction should

always undergo a comprehensive evaluation. This can result in improved prognosis as well as better quality of life.
