The incidence of most tumour diseases has been increasing in the last decades. Despite technical progress in radiotherapy and
pharmacology and in spite of the development of mini-invasive surgical methods, potential complications of anticancer treatment
continue more or less unabated. In urology, one may encounter iatrogenic injury to the urinary tract, whether following surgical
treatment or administration of ionizing radiation. The administration of systemic chemotherapy may negatively affect gonadal
functions as well as immunity, thereby worsening the course of urinary tract infections. The article presents the most common
complications encountered by a urologist and the selected options of their management.
