Urinary tract infection in children: a nephrologist’s perspective

Review of the urinary tract infection in children which focuses on the guidelines for urologists, pediatricians and general pediatricians.
This article deals with clinical manifestations of the urinary tract infection, which are in different age categories significantly different.
The necessary examinations for a correct diagnose are given. Initial antibiotic therapy is recommended and the need for hospitalization is
discussed. Finally, appropriate imaging examinations are listed during and after the urinary tract infection and possibilities of prevention.
