Botulinum toxin, also known as “sausage poison”, is a toxic substance that is naturally produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.

Poisoning with botulinum toxin, which can be ingested with contaminated food, has very serious consequences and can even end fatally.

If botulinum toxin is subjected to heat treatment, its poisonous effects are destroyed.
