Carcinoma of the prostate (CaP) is the third most common cancer in men in the Czech Republic and even the most common cancer in men
in the European Union. Along with the availability of PSA testing is also more frequent detection of earlier stages of CaP in younger men.
The main complications of surgical treatment of CaP is urine leakage and erectile dysfunction. To evaluate the severity of erectile dysfunction
several questionnaires are used. One of them is the International Index of Erectile Function. We evaluated the IIEF-5 questionnaire
that patients filled in the Center of Robotic Surgery and KZ, Masaryk´s Hospital in Ústí nad Labem. Patients filled out the questionnaire
on the day were indicated for prostate biopsy, before prostate biopsy, before robotic radical prostatectomy and then in the 3rd, 6th, 9th
and 12 month after the robotic radical prostatectomy. From our results, it is notable drop 5 IIEF score in the questionnaires, which were
filled by patients just before prostate biopsy.
