Flexible ureterorenoscopy (FURS) is an endoscopic method for complete visualization of upper urinary tract. Development of instruments,
increased flexibility of endoscopes, use of access sheaths and nitinol baskets together with particulary laser technology have allowed therapeutic
use FURS. Nowadays these minimally invasive procedures are used for treatment of kidney stones, tumors of upper urinary tract and
ureteral stenosis, especially pyeloureteral junction, i.e. procedures generally grouped under the term “retrograde intrarenal surgery” (RIRS).
