Hospitalization for urinary tract infection is required in patients with acute urinary tract infection in whom a serious course and possible
complications of the disease are expected. The diagnosis is a result of clinical, morphological and laboratory findings. It is very important
to identify the causative agent; however, the treatment of acute infections is initiated immediately on an empirical basis and targeted
additionally based on the findings of microbiological assessment. Primarily, the aim of morphological diagnosis in urology is to rule out
an obstruction. Without management of the obstruction or drainage of the pus collection, further treatment is unlikely to be successful.
In terms of medication treatment, it is essential, in addition to selecting an appropriate antibiotic, to establish a correct dosage regimen
and stabilize the patient‘s general condition.
