Urethroplasties using own tissue graphts or living flaps are the most common technique in urethral stricture repair all over the world
in urology practice. The resection of the urethral wall and end-to-end anastomosis of spatulated ends is used only in short deffects of
bulbar urethra. Especially serious severe lost injuries or iatrogenic damage with extended spongiofibrosis of the urethral wall, where
are no uneasily attainable high mentioned materials, and where is not suitable urethral resection, are all the time a problem for urethral
reconstructive surgery. An alternative material for urethroplasty seems to be heterologous grafts in this cases. Pelvicol™ is collagen
acelular matrix implant generated from porcine skin. Study compares long-term results of urethral susbstitution uretroplasties in two
groups of patients.
