Penile squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is quite rare malignant tumor in Europe, but is the most common malignant urological tumour
of men in some developing countries of Asia, Africa and South America. This review article shortly summarize diagnostic and therapeutic
guidelines and also new knowledge and current trends for: etiology (human papillomavirus), diagnosis (onkomarkers, biopsy), staging
(sentinel lymph node biopsy, cytology), prevention (circumcision, vaccination) and treatment (laser, kryotherapy, photodynamic therapy,
lymphadenectomy, systemic therapy) of penile carcinoma.
