Imaging methods are used in noninvasive diagnosis of urinary bladder tumors. The roles of computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) using different equipment (helical, single- or multidetector CT), different algorithms (native, contrast enhanced, image filtration), and postprocessing („color“ mapping) have been assessed in recent clinical studies. Virtual cystoscopy (VC) is a new way of image processing of classic methods and it extends the possibilities of diagnostic evaluation. Advantages, disadvantages, and practical utilization of VC are presented in the article.
