Nádory prostaty

Úvod – Zhoubné nádory prostaty (NP) jsou druhou nejčastější malignitou mužské populace za plicními a bronchiálními karcinomy. Představují přibližně 16 % všech maligních nádorů u mužů starších 50 let, jak v populaci evropské, tak v USA. Z hlediska mortality jsou NP na třetím místě. Hovoříme-li o nádorech prostaty, rozumíme tím nejčastější histologický typ, tj. adenokarcinom prostaty (CaP).Ačkoliv se prevalence tohoto onemocnění významně nemění, incidence se v posledních 25 letech zvyšovala. Tento trend je způsoben zavedením vyšetření prostatického specifického antigenu (PSA) do klinické praxe, které posunulo stanovení diagnózy do nižších stadií onemocnění, dosud ohraničeného na žlázu. 80–90 % NP jsou primárně hormonálně dependentní tumory, reagují tedy na endokrinní léčbu...
