Prof. MUDr. Jan Kučera, DrSc. - jeden ze zakladatelů československé urologie, první před­nosta a zakladatel Urologické kliniky FN a Katedry urologie LF UP v Olo­mouci - zemřel po dlouhé a těžké nemoci 22. listopadu tohoto roku. Jako olomoucký rodák promoval v r. 1946 na Lékařské fakultě Masarykovy univerzity v Brně a ihned poté nastoupil jako sekundární lékař nově ustavené chirurgické kliniky LF UP v Olomouci. Již v r. 1948 se stal odborným asistentem a věnoval se všeobecné chirurgii se stále širším zaměřením na urologii. V r. 1955 habilitoval u prof. Rapanta z chirurgie a byl pověřen vedením urologického pracoviště kliniky...
