Vážené kolegyně a kolegové, v tomto roce končí volební období Výboru České urologické společnosti (ČUS) a tím také činnost Oborové komise České lékařské společnosti pro urologii (OKU) ve stávajícím složení. Podle stanov ČLK je sice předseda oborové komise pro příslušný obor jmenován prezidentem ČLK bez vazby na volební mechanizmy v příslušné odborné společnosti, ale Výbor ČUS a plénum OKU došlo již na začátku tohoto období ke společnému závěru, že vzájemná těsná spolupráce obou vrcholných orgánů urologické obce je nezbytná a osvědčila se provázanost funkce předsedy OKU s voleným členstvím ve vedení ČUS. Nově zvolené vedení ČUS navrhne tedy prezidentovi ČLK ke jmenování také nového předsedu OKU. Tento mechanizmus obsazení funkce předsedy OKU máme v úmyslu respektovat i do budoucna. Je tedy nezbytné, aby Oborová komise ČLK pro urologii alespoň stručně informovala členskou základnu o svojí tříleté činnosti, protože šlo vesměs o práci, která se dotýká ve svých důsledcích každého člena urologické obce.
