Na závěr volného pokračování příspěvků o švédském přístupu k benigní hyperplázii prostaty (BPH) zařazujeme několik ekonomických informací. Zdravotně-ekonomické aspekty BPH lze posuzovat z více úhlů pohledu. Jedním může být výpočet přímých a nepřímých nákladů spojených s onemocněním, další možností je porovnání efektivity nákladů vynakládaných u různých léčebných metod, které v současnosti u BPH přicházejí v úvahu.
