Occupational damage of the kidney

The autors analyze the action of the most important occupational nephrotoxic substances. In acute intoxications tubular damage or even necrosis is found which may be caused by arsenic trihydride, bivalent mercury compounds, cadmium, chromium, glycols, halogenated hydrocarbons. In chronic exposure tubular damage is more frequent (lead, mercury, cadmium, chromium, styren, trichlorethylene) than tubular damage (mercury, styrene, trichlorethylene).
