Autoři popisují novou techniku retrográdní uretrografie bez nutnosti použití cévky.

Mikční cystouretrografie a retrográdní uretrografie jsou nejčastější zobrazovací metody pro diagnózu anatomických lézí mužské uretry, i když novější zobrazovací techniky - počítačová tomografie a magnetická rezonance - přispívají v určitých specifických situacích k přesnější diagnostice onemocnění uretry.

Radiologové již léta běžně užívají vakuovou kanylu k hysterosalpingografii. Kolegové z Barcelony používají kanylu k retrográdní uretrografii již od roku 1992. Celkem bylo novou technikou vyšetřeno 160 pacientů bez jediného případu iatrogenního poškození uretry.
