Vinflunine has been approved in Europe for second-line treatment of metastatic and advanced urothelial cancer after failure ofplatin-containing therapy. The reports from daily clinical practice with more heterogeneous patient populations present valuablesources of information on treatment modalities, risk stratification and side-effect management in this narrow indication. Theyconfirm the results from pivotal trials with regard to safety and efficacy.

Prostate carcinoma is one of few malignant tumors being difficult to be diagnosed by conventional imaging methods. On ultrasonographythat is normally used in the diagnosis of prostate cancer, typical hypoechogenic lesion is visible in only 30 %, whichresults in low TRUS sensitivity. In recent years,MRI and especially multi-parametric analysis appears to be promising solution. MRIvisualised lesion is biopted either in real-time using in-bore technique or by selected fusion technique.

Endoscopy is a minimally invasive diagnostic or therapeutic method. It allows to examinate the status of a body cavity or holloworgans using the body openings. Endoscopes are specially modified rigid tubes with an optical system composed of conventionallenses or flexible devices with optical fibers, which allow the diagnosis and therapy of various pathologies of the urinary tract suchas tumors, foreign bodies and urinary tract obstruction. Urinary diversion means urine drainage from the body other than thenatural way. Article describes the different types of endoscopy and urinary diversion in urology and is intended for non-urologyspecialists and GPs...

Penile curvature are congenital or acquired. Congenital curvatures without hypospadia usually do not require a solution. The mostcommon cause of the acquired curvature is Peyronie's disease. It is a penile disorder with fibrous plaque in the tunica albuginea, which is manifested by pain, curvature, constriction or shortening of the penis and is particularly evident in the penis in the erectstate. Treatment is complicated and requires the patience of the patient and the doctor. The article focuses primarily on the conservativepossibilities of therapy, we bring an overview of individual methods and their effectiveness.

Testicular tumors are the most common malignacy in men between the ages of 20 and 40 years. One of the risk factors is thefamilial incidence of testicular cancer. For brothers the risk of developing of the tumor is 8–10 times higher. The tumors are ofthe same histological type mainly in identical twins, but for most non-twin siblings there are different histological findings. Thisreport presents cases of two brothers aged 25 and 23 with testicular tumor who were examined and treated at our departmentin short time of 6 months. In both patiens was early performed radical inguinal orchiectomy. In the case of an older brother, therewas a histological...

Skin care for incontinent patients is very demanding and involves, in particular, risk identification and appropriate preventiveprocedures. However the issue is still underestimated in clinical nursing practice, with persistent myths and shortcomings, whichare caused in multifactorial way (caregiver's knowledge, their number and nurse/patient ratio, competencies and, last but notleast, by economic factors). Pressure ulcers and other skin damage and injury induced by skin maceration in incontinent patientsare among relatively well-influenced clinical situation and conditions. The paper therefore focuses on the main risk factors forincontinence of urine...

Hyaluronic acid and chondroitin sulfate are widely distributed glycosaminoglycans throughout the human body. Among others, they also cover the bladder surface and the disruption of their layer may result in a higher incidence of urinary tract infections(IMC). This text discusses the possibilities of their intravesical application in order to reduce the recurrence of IMC, however, theyalso play a role in the treatment of bladder painful syndrome or in men with prostate cancer after radiotherapy.

Rehabilitation of a pelvic floor should be an integral part of a therapy of patients with urinary incontinence. The aim of the article is to describecomplexity of the rehabilitation process, its individual points, to introduce basic physiotherapeutic approaches, options of the physicaltherapy. We also want to share our practical experience of the rehabilitation focusing on functional diagnosis and pelvic floor therapy.
