Úvod

Vezikoureterální reflux (VUR) definujeme jako zpětný tok moče z močového měchýře do močovodu, nebo až do dutého systému ledviny. Prevalence VUR u zdravé dětské populace není známá, odhady se pohybují od 0,4 % do 1,8 %. U dětí s prokázanou infekcí močových cest (IMC) se VUR vyskytuje poměrně často, zejména u dětí s klinickým průběhem akutní pyelonefritidy, kde bývá přítomen u 29-50% postižených a jeho výskyt je nepřímo úměrný věku dítěte. Reflux bývá častěji diagnostikován u dívek, což souvisí zřejmě s častějším výskytem IMC. Naopak prenatálně diagnostikované refluxy jsou častější u novorozených chlapců. V patogenezi VUR se zřejmě uplatňuje i genetická predispozice, u řady dětí je prokázán jeho familiární výskyt, mechanizmus přenosu však není znám. Při nálezu VUR u jednoho dítěte je pravděpodobnost jeho přítomnosti u dalších sourozenců asi 25 %.
